The influence of the double discrimination on Successful aging of elderly people with disability : A mediating effect of role performance

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to conduct a comprehensive analysis on the variables affecting successful aging of elderly with disability. This research aims to focus on how the perception of successful aging through the mediation effect of role performance between the double discrimination and successful aging. To validate the suggested model, elderly people with disability aged over 60 in Seoul, Kyonggi, and Incheon were selected purposively. The major results were as follows. The mean of disabled elderly people`s successful aging is 2.68 on a 5-point scale. Mediating variables of role performance between the double discrimination and successful aging were found. The implications of social intervention for elderly people with disability were suggested in several ways and suggestions.
